Employment Law
Maria came to us despondent and confused. For six months, she had sought help from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) regarding her sexual harassment claim against her employer. On a Thursday, the employer agreed to mediation in response to her EEOC complaint. The deadline to sue was the following Monday, i.e., 4 days later. Just like Maria, not everyone is aware that it is a bad idea to sue your boss, at least without a lawyer. With only a few hours left before the EEOC filing deadline, Joules Anderson and her team swiftly prepared and filed a lawsuit. We were very successful in getting Maria her settlement.
Personal Injury
Joseph was a young college student living in Orlando when he was hit head on by a drunk driver. The driver was not even supposed to be driving as he was blind in one eye. Joseph’s injuries were severe. He fractured his femur requiring surgery, lost a year of college and was unable to work. His first lawyer was not able to get Joseph a settlement because the insurance company argued Joseph was at fault. After he came to Anderson Legal Group, and with our help, he was able to get a settlement of $250,000. With this amount, he was able to finish his degree and graduated with honors.
Pre-Owned Vehicle Disclosure
A jury found a local car dealer liable for breaching the Florida Vehicle Leasing Act. The case is Comscure, LLC v. Venice Honda, LLC, Palm Beach County Case No. 2017-CA-008883-XX which went to verdict on July 24, 2019, winning $118,700 in damages. The suit was brought by Anderson Legal Group on behalf of the sellers of two used vehicles who the dealers accused of failing to give proper disclosures under the statute before selling their vehicles. The statute requires certain disclosures be made to buyers of used vehicles and that you provide a "Power of attorney, buy back, certificate of title or other document necessary to perform an electronic lien transaction." Our clients won both the trial and the appeal. In the end, the verdict was appealed to assess the trial court’s decisions and was affirmed by the appeals court.
About Our Attorneys
Anderson Legal Group has built a reputation as a trusted provider of legal services in the Midwest, with a dedicated and experienced legal team at the helm. The principal attorneys serving our clients are Steve Anderson, Jessica Muirhead, Nathan Vincelette and Zach Schneid.
Steve Anderson is the Senior Partner and a highly respected trial lawyer in Northern Indiana and the surrounding area. He has been practicing law for nearly thirty years and has developed an extensive portfolio of successful verdicts and settlements across an array of practice areas. He maintains an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell, a distinction reserved for lawyers with very high ethical standards and professional ability.
Jessica Muirhead has served as senior counsel for Anderson Legal Group for over a decade, focusing predominantly on cases involving litigation, immigration, bankruptcy and international matters. She has a wealth of experience handling all aspects of litigation, but her passion lies primarily in international law. Jessica has a particular affinity for cases involving business transactions and contracts .
Nathan Vincelette has been with the firm since 2017 and is a crucial member of the Anderson Legal Group team. Nathan’s practice mainly revolves around personal injury, insurance bad faith, products liability, general litigation and workers’ compensation law. His pertinent experience has included work with a private investigator, a judge’s law clerk and a corporate trust lawyer.
Zach Schneid is the most recent addition to the client services roster at Anderson Legal Group, joining the firm in 2020. Like his colleagues, Zach possesses focused legal expertise and a strong commitment to client service. His practice involves insurance coverage, general litigation, personal injury, workers’ compensation and appeals.
